Sculpture

After decades of procrastination Kris has finally learned to sculpt in clay - at least on a small scale.

There are two sculpture projects which are waiting for my skill to "mature".
One is my "enduring muse" as she was at 18. She has given me an aesthetic of the human form that only sculpture can satisfy.
The other project, and the stimulus finally to start sculpting, was inspired by a performance of twins in the Kangeroos Gymnastic Team. This crystallised an idea for a water feature inspired by a visit to Millesgården in Stockholm in 1980.

Icarus received a pleasant mention from the Coxsoft Art blog. That site contains many interesting sculpture references.

If you visit Oslo in Norway then the Vigeland Park is worth visiting. Here are some of my photographs from visits in 1979 and 1980.

In Stockholm, Sweden, there is the outdoor display of Milles sculpture. It is set high on a cliff overlooking one of the city's many waterways.

Some inexpensive pieces of reference sculpture that decorate my shelves. Some of them are at statue.com
