This proud fellow, admiring his reflection in the mirror, was responsible for the creation of these Web pages; being the commission of Kris. Anyone who has spent a memorable night at Port Meirion, Wales, knows the indelible impression left by the cries of their wandering peacocks.

He adorns the entrance hall of a modest house in England. The idea of a peacock theme in the house was originally established by Villeroy Bosch "Paon" bathroom tiles.

Set into an inner porch door, facing North, the glass colours are chosen to be a mixture of pastels and swirls. The orange glass has a distinct mother of pearl irridescence on one side. The background glass was specially imported from Belgium for its particular pattern.
The hall was retiled in Colorker "Color Oct" large (33cm) off-white tiles with a bright red (27mm) taco inset. The tacos echo the 'eyes' on the peacock's tail while being a close match to the red glass in the birds' beaks. Out of the many samples trawled by the tile supplier this was the only pair that fitted the possibilities allowed by the prototyped glass colours.

The top side panel incorporates a fuchsia motif in memory of my friend Suet Fong (1957-1996). A group of fuchsia bushes are planted in the garden outside this door.
